Customer service and satisfaction have been the primary goals of Lewis-Smith Supply Corporation since its inception in 1974. The wholesale-distributorship was founded on December 1 by Ralph Smith of Dothan and William Lewis of Moultrie, Georgia. In 1983, the Smith's bought out the stock held by Mr. Lewis. The business provides a variety of products to its customers including residential and commercial plumbing, pipe valves and fittings, industrial, pump and well, heating and air conditioning, residential and commercial sprinklers and irrigation as well as supplies.

Lewis-Smith endured much success from the beginning and proceeded down a prosperous path. The success encountered due to a loyal customer, enable Lewis-Smith to continue growing. In 1990, Lewis-Smith built a new building in a prime spot where it remains today. The new structure encompasses 63,000 square feet of which 8,000 square feet is made up of a designer showroom and office space. There is also an ample pipe yard just outside the large warehouse. Dothan's central location enables sales to a tri-state area to be made. Southwest Georgia, Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama are all territories covered by Lewis-Smith.

A new and exciting event occurred in the life of Lewis-Smith in 1994. The opportunity to purchase a small local supply company across town presented itself. Lewis-Smith jumped at the prospect of expansion to its new Northside Annex branch on the Ross Clark Circle.
